Affiliate marketing can be defined as money sharing relationship where both the merchant and the affiliate make money when a sale is made. The affiliate will get commissions for every sale that is being made through him and the merchant will also make money for every sale that the affiliate makes. It is also a cheap way for the merchant to sell their products or services.
The major advantage that affiliate marketing model has is that you will be able to start your business without creating your own product. All the work and research has already been done by the merchant. Your role as a affiliate is to market and presell the product.
If you have follow the proven working model, you will have to firstly create a simple opt in page with a ‘opt in form’ so that you can build your own customer database. Your ‘opt in form’ will be link to the autoresponder where all the email message have been embedded inside. So when you send traffic to your website and if your customer subscribes to join your list, he will be redirected to your affiliate link.
If your customer buys the product, you will earn the commission. But if he did not buys the product, it is still alright because your have your customer’s details and you will be able to follow up with your customer. The important thing that you have done is that you have built your own list and you will be able to promote other products to them in the future. Do not make the mistake of directing your customer straight to your affiliate link without getting the customer’s data.

Traffic => Opt In Page => Affiliate Link => Follow Up => Backend
